Let’s talk about Cassava or “kamoteng kahoy”. Cassava is among starchy foods, considered as of the most nutritious foods in the world. Starchy roots are a significant source of dietary energy and known to be the highest producer of carbohydrates among staple crops. Cassava ranks fourth as a food crop in the developing countries after rice, maize, and wheat, according to FAO.
Its roots can be peeled, chopped and frozen for specialized markets. Cassava leaves, which is rich in protein, can eat either fresh or cooked.

8. Cassava provides treatment for cancer. It contains potentially toxic levels of cyanogen called linamarin which fights and destroys cancer cells such as ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and leukemia.
Preparation:
– Peel off the cassava
– Cut it into pieces and immerse them alternatively between hot and cold water.
– Then, put them in the fridge and leave them for a few hours.
– Pour the liquid in which the cassava have been immersed in another liquid just like fruit beverages or water.
– You can consume the cassava liquid with an empty stomach.
