In the Senate Budget Hearing, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV questioned the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff General Carlito Galvez Jr. and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana about the issue regarding his amnesty.
According to Galvez, based on the testimony of Colonel Josefa Berbigal, Senator Trillanes applied for amnesty.
But according to Galvez, it is possible that there have been “lapses” that is why, from the general headquarters, they failed to present the amnesty records of Trillanes to the J1 who’s responsible in taking care of the documents.
“Apparently, Sir,…there [are] some lapses, na hindi po naibaba ‘yung documents sa J1…. Ang suspicion namin, Sir, ang repository ng mga dokumento na ito ay ‘di naibaba sa amin sa GHQ (that the documents were not brought down to J1…. Our suspicion, Sir, the respository of the documents did not bring the documents to us in GHQ),” Galvez said.
Again, Secretary Lorenzana emphasized his first statement that last August 15, the Solicitor General Jose Calida asked for the amnesty records of Trillanes together with the other former soldiers who are members of Magdalo group.
According to Lorenzana, his staff gave the Proclamation 75 to Calida, this proclamation came from the former President Benigno Noynoy Aquino III who gives the amnesty to Trillanes, as well as the amnesty documents that was signed and approved by the former Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin
Sa budget hearing ng Senado ay inusisa ni Senator Antonio Trillanes IV kina Armed Forces of the Philippines o AFP Chief of Staff general Carlito Galvez Jr. at Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana ang isyu sa kanyang amnesty.
