As a matter of fact, they are in demand in different countries and now, Poland opened thousands of jobs for Filipino workers and no experience is required.
According to OFW Tambayan, Poland struggles with labor shortage because many of their locals move to different parts of Europe. As a solution, they open their doors for foreign workers, including Filipinos. The Polish government learned that Filipinos are great workers and could contribute to its labor force.
The Philippine Association of Service Exporters, Inc. (PASEI) revealed that Poland needs thousands of workers in various fields and industries, including information technology, manufacturing, fish and meat processing, and heavy-duty truck driving.
Elsa Villa, PASEI president, said that the jobs made available for Filipinos don’t even require previous job experience, saying that the employers are willing to provide them with on-site training. They also offer a bonus of “residency.”
“Hindi nga kailangan na kayo ay highly skilled. They need a lot of people, unskilled, that they will assign to manufacturing companies,” Villa said.
“Workers who have worked straight five years with one employer will be entitled to apply for residency. So ‘pag sa residency, puwede mong madala ang pamilya mo doon,” Villa shared.
“Of course, ikaw ang magbabayad sa expenses ng pagdala ng pamilya mo doon, but especially for young families, I really really recommend this because libre doon ang education. Libre rin ang hospitalization.”
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) warns Filipinos who wanted to apply to only apply through accredited agencies. POEA administrator Bernard Olalia said:
“If you plan to be deployed by our government through government placement, dito lang po kayo sa POEA makipag-usap.”
“Huwag po kayong makikipag-usap ng over the phone, makikipag-transact over the phone. Pinakamainam po [ay] pumunta kayo sa main or press office ng agency.”
Villa also revealed that countries in Europe such as Croatia and the Czech Republic are also planning to open their country for Filipino workers.
